Just an update

Pockets has seemed to do alot better since the mediciation and careful attention. However it seems in this past week she is more distant than ever. She goes around licks everything, running into walls again, and is not aware of her surroundings. No circles that I have seen this week

Best day yet

Woke up this morning, and got Pockets out of her kennel. She used the bathroom in the middle of the night again, expected from the drugs. Picked her up, and took her outside, both number one and two. Gave her some good treats, and gave her water and breakfast.

She is keeping her balance so much better today. She is not slidding around as much when she ate. She is is still there, but still a bit off in lala land.

She did have a pre seizure today after breakfast. It only lasted about 15 seconds. She hasnt had one since.

Morning time!

Morning as usual, woke up and took the dogs out and gave pockets the pills. She is still larthargic, but ran around and stared at me forever. Took her back inside with no bathroom evidence from her in the yard, picked her up and noticed that she went both in the Kennel. She has never done that before, and that scares me.

Put new clean blankets in the Kennel and blanket, and placed her in the other kennel. After feeding and making a 2nd attempt Pockets went both outside. Brought her back inside, let her drink some water and put her back in the kennel so she cant hurt herself. Petted with her and sat with her for about 10 minutes, she finally falls asleep.

What pockets does, and how it relates

This is not for the weak hearted. This is my Pockets after having a meal.

The night so far

Brought Pockets out for a bit, she has been in her kennel to prevent her from running into things. She is doing allright, however, she is walking alot in circles. That kinda scares me.

My worst fear

PDE: Just the Facts
Pug Dog Encephalitis (PDE) is probably a Pug owners greatest concern and worst fear. Unfortunately, very little is known about this disease, however what is known, for certain, is presented here for the benefit of Pug owners and those considering Pugs as their breed of choice. Please note that this article serves only as an introduction to, and general description of PDE. For information on PDE in greater detail, consult veterinary sources found in your local library or on reputable internet sites.

What we do know about PDE is that it is an inflammation of the brain that strikes adolescent Pugs usually between the ages of 2 and 3. What causes this inflammation, in Pugs, and at this age range in particular is all unknown to this date.
